Michael Kashambuzi, Co-founder and General Partner Michael primarily works in an architectural and development role on K2TP projects. He has 10 years of experience in J2EE web application development and has worked with globally dispersed teams in industries including automotive, defense, and financial services. Michael began his career as a web developer at Africa Online. In 1999, he moved to American Management Systems in Virginia where he worked as a Systems Analyst in the Industrial and Utilities Service Consulting Group (I&UCSG) on the AcquiLine project, a web-based procurement system for the US Department of Defense. In 2001, Michael co-founded K2TP where he is charged with running day-to-day operations for the partnership. He has since consulted on such projects as developing a web-based reporting system for CDC Investment Management Corporation, continued work with AMS on the AcquiLine project and from early 2002 to the present, at BMW of North America working with a team of Java and mainframe developers to convert the existing ordering, distribution and sales support systems from legacy- to Internet-based systems. Michael is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Mechanical Engineering.
Sam Kashambuzi, Co-founder and General Partner Sam has over 13 years of software development experience in the financial services industry. He began his career as a financial systems developer at Credit Lyonnais Bank in 1996. After three years, Sam moved to Bloomberg LP, where he worked on equity analytics systems. After a year and a half at Bloomberg, Sam moved to CDC Investment Management Company (CIMCO), where he was responsible for deploying and integrating third party trading systems. In 2001, Sam co-founded K2TP, and in his capacity as a managing partner, engaged in application development projects at CIMCO, Thomson Financial and Credit Agricole Bank. In 2006, Sam took a full time position at Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters) as a development manager and now holds a senior director role managing a global software development team. He continues to be engaged at K2TP, primarily focused on strategic development initiatives. Sam graduated from McGill University in 1996 with degrees in Accounting, Finance and Computer Science. He lives in Jersey City, New Jersey with his wife and two sons.
